Abstract Center FAQ's

Q: How do I submit an abstract?
Go to www.cns.org and click on Abstract Submission Center is Now Closed for the 2008 CNS Annual Meeting or go directly to http://2008.cns.org

CNS Members: You can login to the abstract center using your CNS PA username and password.

Non members: If you submitted an abstract last year as a corresponding author, you may already have a username and password. If so, try the “Forgot my password” link and type your e-mail in the box. If you don’t get a username/password from that, create an account.

If you are not a member and have not used this abstract center before, you can simply register.
 
Q: What is the deadline for submissions?
April 10, 2008.
 
Q: Can I submit more than one abstract?
There is no limit to the number of abstracts submitted.
 
Q: What type of presentations can I request?
There are three types of Original Science:
• Open Paper
• Select Abstract
• Digital Poster

If you choose to be considered for “Any Format”, your abstract will be considered for all three types of presentation.

If you choose to be considered for an “Oral Presentation Only”, your abstract will not be considered for the Digital Poster category but will be considered for Open Paper and Select Abstract presentations.

If you choose to be considered for a “Digital Poster Only”, your abstract will not be considered for Open Paper or Select Abstract presentations.

Once the Abstract Center closes, you may not change your Preferred Format.
 
Q: How can I apply for an award?
On the General Information tab, select the award you’d like to apply for. The description and qualifications will be listed. You may only apply for one award per abstract.
 
Q: How can I add Authors?
Go to the authors tab. Search database for authors’ names; if not in database, click on “Register a New Author” Once the Abstract Center closes, you will not be able to add or delete authors.
 
Q: What information will be required?
• Title
• Keywords (up to 4)
• Study Design
• Abstract (300 word maximum) separated into
   • Introduction
   • Methods
   • Results
   • Conclusions
• Learning Objectives (3)
• Declaration of prior submission or presentation
• Disclosure of conflict of interest
• Institutional Review Board (IRB) Disclosure
• Animal Care and Use (IACUC) Disclosure
• FDA Disclosure
 
Q: Can I add images to my abstract?
Up to 2 images may be attached to your abstract submission.
 
Q: Can I edit my abstract once it’s submitted?
Abstracts may be edited up until the deadline for submission after which time no changes in content or authors may be made.
 • Use your CNS PA Username and Password to make changes; non-members will be assigned
   a username and password for the Abstract Center.
 
Q: Who will review the abstracts?
All abstracts will be blindly reviewed by a committee of qualified neurosurgeons.
 
Q: When will I be notified of the results?
Notification of decision of Abstract Selection Committee will be mid-May via email to the corresponding author of all abstracts regardless of the outcome.
